Yachiyd, Beloved

Shalom Aleicum Everyone;

  Yachiyd (male)/ Yachiydah (female) - The beloved child; not necessarily the first born, nor the onlybegotten                                                                                                         ~Eth Cepher~
                             
        I came across the meaning of this word a few months ago while doing a scripture study utilizing the Eth Cepher bible.  It immediately impacted me because I have only one child, - my beloved son, my yachiyd.   (ILUWAMH Anwar). 
        I've often heard children tease their parents and ask 'Who's your favorite?'  Of course any parent worth their salt responds, 'You are all my favorites', (after all, diplomacy is a necessary tool in the maintenance of family peace).  However I learned after my study, there's no shame in having a
yachiyd.  Plenty of our Hebrew ancestors had a yachiyd.  I recall the story of Yosef and his coat of many colors given to him by his father Ya'aqob.  Of course we all know our Father Yah has a yachiyd:
                Matthew 17:5
                5.  While he yet spoke, behold, a voice out of the cloud, which said, "This is my yachiyd,
                     in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him!" 
      The love Yah had for mankind, to offer up His only yachiyd so that we might be reconciled to Him, is overwhelming.  Not to mention the love, and obedience, Yahoshua had  for His Father; and the sacrifice He gave for us.
        Here are other examples:  
                Genesis 22:2
                2.  And He said, Take now your son, your yachiyd Yitschaq, whom you love, and get
                     you into the land of MoriYah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the
                     mountains which I will tell you of.

                Judges 11:34
                34.  And Yiphtach came to Mitspah unto his house, and behold, his daughter came
                       out to   meet him with timbrels and dancing: and she was his yachiydah;
                       beside her he had neither son nor daughter.
        We all know the above story.  Yiphtach made a vow unto Yah, not knowing his yachiydah
would ultimately fulfill it with her life.  She did so willingly.

        There are others which you can read for yourself, namely, Proverbs 4:3 and 
        YeremiYah 6:26.
    
        The relationship between a parent and the yachiyd/yachiydah is special and is acknowledged  throughout scripture.  Often is has brought pain and suffering, but it also brings love and joy.
        Look at your yachiyd/yachiydah and cherish them while you can.
